The objective of this research is to investigate the impact of decentralization, employee work engagement, and absorptive capacity on job performance within the Tabriz Municipality. This study is practical in its aim and falls under descriptive-survey research methods. The statistical population of the present study includes the 15,000 employees of the Tabriz Municipality. To determine the sample size, Morgan’s table was used, resulting in a sample size of 375 individuals based on Cochran’s formula. The data collection tool for this research is a standardized questionnaire, the reliability of which was confirmed using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient at 0.849. The SmartPLS software was utilized for data analysis. The research findings indicate that decentralization has an effect on (employee work engagement) in the municipality but does not significantly impact employees’ absorptive capacity. Furthermore, the results show that employee engagement influences absorptive capacity.
