Abstract
Digital transformation has become a key factor in the redesign of accounting and financial reporting systems in recent years. This study used the Narrative Review method to examine the role of new technologies, including artificial intelligence and blockchain, in improving the transparency of financial reporting. Research data was extracted and qualitative content analysis was performed on them by reviewing reputable international studies. The research findings show that artificial intelligence, through machine learning algorithms, provides the ability to analyze a large volume of financial data and increases the accuracy and reliability of financial information by identifying abnormal patterns and detecting fraud. This technology also plays an important role in improving audit processes and reducing human errors. In contrast, blockchain, by creating a decentralized structure and immutable recording of transactions, allows for increased transparency, reduced information asymmetry, and improved traceability of financial data. The results also show that both technologies, in addition to their independent effects, can, if converged, pave the way for the creation of a new generation of intelligent, real-time, and transparent financial reporting systems. However, existing studies show that challenges such as lack of technology infrastructure, standardization issues, and organizational acceptance still hinder the full implementation of these technologies in accounting systems. Overall, this research emphasizes the importance of the role of new technologies in the transformation of financial reporting and suggests that future studies should examine the integrated and empirical interaction of AI and blockchain in improving the quality of financial reporting.
