Abstract
The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of ownership structure, board composition, and CEO dominance on the deleveraging policy of companies listed on the Tehran Stock Exchange. In this study, the company's deleveraging policy was considered as the dependent variable, and the ownership structure (ownership concentration, family ownership, institutional ownership, and managerial ownership), board composition (board independence, CEO duality, and gender diversity on the board), and CEO dominance were considered as independent variables. The research method is applied and the archival data collection method is used. The statistical sample includes 95 companies during the period 1393 to 1402 (the total number of observations is 950 company-years). Hypotheses were tested using multivariate linear regression and Iviews software. The results of the study showed that ownership concentration, family ownership, institutional ownership, managerial ownership, CEO dominance, and board independence have a significant effect on corporate deleveraging policy, but gender diversity in the board of directors and CEO role duality do not have a significant effect on corporate deleveraging policy.
