Abstract
As an interdisciplinary field, operations research uses mathematical models and methods to solve complex problems in the livestock industry. These methods help livestock farmers make better decisions that reduce costs and increase productivity. One of the key applications of operations research is diet optimization, which uses mathematical models to determine the best combination of feed ingredients with the lowest cost and highest nutritional efficiency for livestock. Predictive models can also help in the optimal management of water and forage resources. In herd management, operations research algorithms help improve the selection and distribution of livestock to increase milk or meat production. In addition, operations research also plays a role in improving livestock health management; through modeling and analyzing animal disease data, prevention and treatment strategies are effectively planned. Overall, operations research is an effective tool for solving various problems in animal husbandry, helping to increase productivity, reduce costs, and improve animal health. Despite challenges such as access to accurate data, operations research remains an essential tool for achieving sustainable and efficient animal husbandry in the modern world.
