The purpose of this study is to investigate the role of corporate ownership structure and governance on the future performance of profit firms. In this regard, 140 firms (700 firms-years) listed to Tehran Stock Exchange during the years 2012 to 2016 were selected by systematic elimination method. The data were collected and calculated by referring to the financial statements of companies and the new approach software in Excel spreadsheets and then the hypotheses were tested by Eviews statistical software using regression analysis method. To measure the future performance of the company, the Return on Assets proxy, and the Board of Directors Independence and Non-Dichotomy of the Board of Directors, were used to evaluate corporate governance systems. The results of the significant coefficients test based on fitted regression equations summarize the direct and significant effect of corporate governance, institutional ownership and family ownership on firm performance.
