Due to its unique geographical location and access to open waters, the transit of goods in Iran has always played a key role in the national and regional economy. This process, which involves the transfer of goods from a foreign origin to a foreign destination by passing through the territorial territory of Iran, has long been of interest, and with the development of transportation infrastructure (sea, rail, road) and the adoption of supportive laws, its economic and strategic importance has increased. Focusing on facilitating procedures, reducing costs, and increasing speed are considered to be the main goals of transit development in Iran. Therefore, in this article, I have first introduced the concept of transit of goods and its importance and necessity in the country's economy. Then, with a meticulous and historical look, I have examined the history of transit of goods in the country, especially the Ports and Maritime Administration of Bandar Lengeh, which currently bears the title of the General Administration of Ports and Maritime Affairs of West Hormozgan, with its central role among other ports in Hormozgan. And finally, I have made suggestions for a better future in terms of service quality and have also taken a look at the economic future and capacities of this port (especially with the construction of a new multi-purpose port).
