Abstract
This article is a research on the concept of sustainable development with an emphasis on urban development and perspectives. The aim of this research is to introduce ways to achieve sustainable development goals. The discussion of sustainable development is based on the assumption that societies need to manage three types of capital (economic, social, and natural) that may be unstable. Sustainable development is an organizing principle for human life. This assumption provides a desirable future for human societies without undermining the sustainability of natural systems and the environment.
